PUBLISHER'S TRAVELOGUE: BRIGHT LIGHTS, BIG CITIES
Miami Tower, September 2011
We love taking interesting pictures (above, that's in Florida, so we assume it's a giant chameleon … or the Miami Tower). If you do too, then send them to us. Each week, we'll pick a winner and share it with our national readers. Caution: This isn't a "Fanciest Lens" or "Most Likely to be Ansel Adams" contest. Use whatever equipment you have, even your old point-and-shoot. We're looking for artistic, humorous, or something that surprises us. Winners each week will receive a prize (starting with free Bisnow event tickets, about $59, but knowledge is priceless). Keep the pics somehow related to real estate. (Artistic license encouraged mandatory. It doesn't have to be buildings.) Send your best shot to [email protected].
Circa Center (Amtrak Building) in Philadelphia, September 2011
Philadelphia?s 437-foot Circa Center, known as the Amtrak Building because it's across from 30th Street Station, was designed by Cesar Pelli and developed by Brandywine in the early 2000s. We snapped it across town from the ?Rocky" steps as it was changing from yellow (as we recall) to blue. Sometimes it displays a giant ?P? for Phillies.
Paramount Theater, Boston, on Sept. 26, 2011
This is Boston's Paramount Theatre on Washington Street near the Commons. Emerson College recreated the 1932 building in recent years as a performing arts theater and education facility.
