Dirt Flies on Trinity Strand Trail
Don't worry, this isn't the work of the world's largest gopher. The TrinityStrandTrails first phase of construction started at Farrington and the channel (near Mama's Daughters' Diner) on the 7.8-mile hike and bike trail along the original Trinity River watercourse, adjacent to downtown Dallas. The goal: improve air quality, provide recreational opportunities, and promote ecotourism. Phase 1 was awarded to Roesch Company Construction. Funds from a NCTCOG grant and city bond financing are paying for the construction of 2.5 miles of concrete trail along the old Trinity River channel, from the intersection of Oak Lawn Avenue and Stemmons Freeway to Farrington Street. This path winds through the Dallas Design District and extends near the Southwestern Medical District.
We prefer our losses come with ice cream. Beth Marie's in Denton is our favorite, but Tutti-Frutti Yogurt at Village on the Parkway comes in a close second. Send us your best place for treats.[email protected].
