Gone Fishin’

Last Wednesday, the three Bisnow bros on the right—Mike (Ponto) Ponticelli, Andrew (Goody) Goodman, and Miles (Loudspeaker) Bloom—and their friends from Morgan Stanley, Chris DiFelice and Amadi Nze, rose at 5am to hit the seas. They caught a boatload of striped bass off Montauk before settling in for a day’s work. (The bass had no comment, since they weren't largemouth.)

Miles, our NY tri-state biz dev rep, is fishing for sponsors and advertisers, as well, if only to get VP of sales Ponto and VP of events Goody off his back. Email him at [email protected] to tell him about that time you caught a bigger fish than he did.

Gone Golfin’

We’re actually starting to think Miles doesn’t work at all. He's snapped with Meridian Capital Group’s Marko Kazanjian, Brian Flax, and Jonathan Stern at the Community Housing Improvement Program golf and tennis tournament at Old Westbury’s Glen Oaks Club. In the modified scramble, Meridian’s team shot a birdie and then an eagle on the first two holes (each one a par 4) and was six under par through 12 holes. They ended four under par, though, missing a win by a few strokes. Here’s your chance to bring in a ringer for your team: Miles, who’s a former golf instructor, would love to play in more commercial real estate golf outings.

Gardening

Empire State Realty Trust employees, families, and friends recently planted flowers in barrel planters at Stamford’s Lathon Wider Community Center at Henry Street and Woodland Avenue as part of a City-run program to preserve and enhance Stamford’s look.

Watching the Runway

Here’s Rethink Innovations’ Steve Kerr and Eric Christoffersen at the International Interior Design Association Pennsylvania/New Jersey/Delaware chapter’s recent fashion show. Each year, the event raises money for IIDA Student Campus Centers and their interior design departments, and this year, beneficiaries Kean University and Brookdale Community College received $6,000 each.

Hitting the Water Park

We asked for your stories from New Jersey's notorious Action Park, and here’s our winner of a ticket to Bisnow’s NJ Office Boom, held Thursday. New York Grant Co’s Jonathan Breshin remembers a near-death experience at the young age of 13 on the Colorado River ride (four people, one tube). Like many always did, he dove out of his tube toward the end, only to find a solid ceiling of rafts when he tried to resurface. He went through panic, rage, anger, fear, and acceptance before an opening finally appeared. His friends? Already on their way to tempt fate at the next ride.
